Mr. Papaefthimiou obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. He went to law school at the University of San Diego where he wrote or contributed to numerous published articles and books. Mr. Papaefthimiou received an award for his oral advocacy skills in law school. Mr. Papaefthimiou passed the bar on his first attempt in June of 2005.
Mr. Papaefthimiou has worked with co-counsel across the Country as the primary law and motion and research attorney in complex, high value cases, including, but not limited to, consumer rights litigation, class action litigation, intellectual property litigation, RICO litigation, securities litigation, and wage and hour litigation. His experience includes, but not limited to, cases against the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the County of Los Angeles, Twentieth Century Fox, E! Entertainment, CBS, Pacific Sunwear of California, Nike, Plasticolor, W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery, and Big O Tires.
In his practice, Mr. Papaefthimiou has successfully litigated against some of the largest law firms in America, including, but not limited to: Latham & Watkins; Jones Day; DLA Piper; McDermott, Will & Emery; Pillsbury, Winthrop & Shaw; Fish & Richardson; Duane Morris; Sheppard, Mullin Richter & Hampton; Gordon & Rees; Bryan Cave, LLP; and Procopio.
Many of Mr. Papaefthimiou’s litigation successes have been the subject of published opinions, including a successful appeal to the Ninth Circuit. See CollegeSource, Inc. v. Dintino, 167 Cal. App. 4th 333 (2008) (successfully appealed denial of motion for attorney fees, opposing counsel Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton).
Mr. Papaefthimiou has also taken multiple cases to trial in both federal and state court, has argued numerous appeals and negotiated settlements worth millions of dollars.
